Grace Kelly, Vanity Fair cover girl

More than two decades after her tragic death, Grace Kelly - (one of our most favouritist women EVER) - appears on the cover of the May 2010 issue of Vanity Fair

We really do LOVE Grace, a.k.a Princess Grace of Monaco; her work with Alfred Hitchcock was simply breathtaking, and her wedding dress remains one of the most beautiful we have ever seen….

TREND ALERT: Rainbow streaks anyone? Pink eyebrows perhaps…?

Anyone else noticed the fashion world seems to be shoving the 1990′s down our necks lately? No matter how hard we resist the idea that the 90s are ‘rad’ (yes, we used that word in the 90s unfortunately!) again (after all it was only 10-20yrs ago so it doesnt feel vintage just yet darlings) we are spotting clogs, grungey Kurt Cobain-esque looks and even head-to-toe denim, all over the runways.

I mean come on, we really did experience some of fashion’s ugliest moments in the 90′s didn’t we?… Spice Girls platform trainer boots anyone? *shudder*

So can we think its cool again? Maybe. After all one of the 90s trends that we remember most fondly was streaky hair (some of you may remember the coloured mascara for hair?? lol – man alive that was fun; painting your hair a different colour each day). Well, it seems that we could all be harking back to those days sooner than we think because none other that fashion goddess, Kate Moss, has stepped out with said streaks. Mossy was trying to have blue streaks put in and it accidentally turned out grey…then decided to keep it like that because she liked it. What do you think? (Quick Fashion Fact: Daphne Guinness’ infamous black & white locks are also due to a similar ‘happy accident’). We kind of love it and trust Kate to have such a stylish freak accident … grey hair was all over the runways recently. Check out Chanel below. (Ps. Tavi and Pixie Geldof have both ‘taken inspiration’ from Kate and incorporated grey into their young tresses recently)

Another fashion lurvie (who wasnt even born before the 90s – joke) chanelling this trend is cutie Ashley Olsen. Look at the blue and green streaks she recently rocked in her mop at the MoMA tribute for Tim Burton. Now THAT’S the hair we had in the 90s!

And it doesn’t stop there ladies… Soon we could all be pencilling in our eyebrows neon if the Balenciaga models are anything to go by…

Personally, we think the bolder the better and that is why we LOVED the hair at Alexis Mabille’s recent Haute Couture show. We would really like to see some Symphony Stylers trying out this one ;)

Calling all circus freaks ;)

We are head-over-heels in love with the new Temperley London Spring/Summer 2010 collection, which is inspired by the 1920’s and 30’s circus. A celebration of the individual style of acrobats, showgirls, clowns, tightrope and trapeze artists from the time and an extravaganza of colour, shape, pattern and print, this collection is easily one of Temperley’s best yet….

Our first Symphony Event!

Morning Symphony Stylers! Hope you gorgeous lot are all well and looking forward to the coming weekend :) … Last night we held an exclusive sneak-peek preview into the world of Symphony (our new store set to open in the Dubai Mall, May 2010). Held at the Presidential Suite at The Address Hotel, Dubai Mall, the event offered our favourite Symphony Stylers the opportunity to browse the stunning new SS10 collections from the likes of Christian Siriano, Willow, Ports 1961, Charlotte Olympia, Rupert Sanderson, Bodyamr, Lara Bohinc and heaps more.

Guests snacked on delectable mini Smphony cupcakes (courtesy of Sweet Stuff), sipped on exotic mocktails and enjoyed the aroma of peonies (our faves) and Temperley London’s luxury scented candles. The secret event was attended by Dubai socialites Lina Samman and Rekha Tourani as well as many notable VVIPs, press and fashion savvy ladies from around the region. The room was buzzing with excitement and twitter was awash with inside Symphony Stylers tweeting directly from the event. We were also joined by the lovely Julie from UNFAIR magazine who brought along some of the brand new issues for our esteemed guests.

Thanks to all who came and thanks to you for following us Symphony Stylers. We are so excited to open the store very soon. Watch this space!
